San Juan

San Juan Guanacaste is located in the magnificent Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. It is rich in appeal and history. This charming city was founded in 1787 and is known for preserving its rich history and unique culture.

Its cobbled paths and adobe houses, many with red tile roofs, date back to the region’s colonial days. The Church of San Juan is one of the most distinctive points of attraction, as it is an architectural masterpiece. It was erected in 1825 but has maintained its original splendor to this day.

One of the best-known traditions of San Juan is the celebration of the Day of San Juan Bautista on June 24. The festival includes music, dance and traditional Costa Rican cuisine such as roasted tamales and empanadas with chiverre. Locals in the area are frequently seen dressed in traditional clothing and participating in religious processions in honor of their patron saint.

There are several national parks nearby, including the Rincón de la Vieja National Park and the Santa Rosa National Park. All of which offer opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing. The natural environment is also an important aspect in this sector.

San Juan Guanacaste is a resort that blends history, culture, and nature, making it an unbeatable destination for visitors seeking to discover the true spirit of Costa Rica.
